Pamela Means will perform the song "Strange Fruit," a powerful

indictment of America's brutal lynching past.

Named Song of the Century by TIME Magazine, "Strange Fruit" was

written by Abel Meeropol. A Jewish schoolteacher and songwriter

from the Bronx, who along with his wife, also became the

adoptive parents of Robert & Michael Meeropol, the orphaned sons

of Julius & Ethel Rosenberg.
